Module 2A ObjectivesObjectives
By the end of module 2A, you should be able to:
Describe concept analysis.
Describe the relationships among concepts, theory, practice and research.
Differentiate between concept analysis/development and concept synthesis.
Identify and analyze the application of a concept analysis approach used within a scholarly paper.
Module 2A: Read and Analyze a Concept Analysis and Compose Your Paper
Your Task: This week, you have to 1) read about the Concept Analysis steps as discussed in the textbook (McEwen & Wills), 2) within that same chapter, carefully reviewed A Comparison of Concept Development Methods, and 3) read the Xue & Heffernan paper. Your task is to compose a paper that compares the method used by Xue & Heffernan with the other 6 models of concept analysis described in the book.
Full guidelines and expectations can be found in the Interactive: Concept Analysis Development (Part 1) and in the Concept Analysis Paper Rubric. If you need support formatting your paper according to APA guidelines, please consult this resource.

In the given content, the medical college students are tasked with composing a paper that compares the concept development method used by Xue & Heffernan with the other six models of concept analysis described in the textbook. The paper should adhere to specific guidelines and grading criteria.
To begin with, the paper should include a title page that contains the paper title, authors’ names, author affiliation, course number, instructor’s name, assignment due date, and page number. The abstract should be structured and placed on a separate page, without any references or citations, but must include 3-4 keywords.
The body of the paper should start by naming the concept development method used in the Xue & Heffernan study, along with identifying the researchers who developed the method. Next, it should explain the steps employed in the particular method discussed in the Xue & Heffernan study. Then, it should compare these steps with the concept development method described in the textbook (McEwen & Wills). Lastly, the body of the paper should include a brief summary of the analysis.
Regarding formatting, mechanics, and references, it is crucial to ensure correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. The paper should have numbered pages, and the header should not include a running head. The paper should adhere to correct APA formatting according to the 7th edition, including appropriate headings and subheadings. The word count should not exceed 600 words, excluding the title page and reference page. Lastly, the reference page should address any authors mentioned in the paper, and correct APA Style (7th ed.) should be used for citing references.
Following these guidelines and criteria, the medical college students will be able to compose a comprehensive and well-structured paper comparing the concept development method used by Xue & Heffernan with other models of concept analysis described in the textbook. This assignment will help students enhance their understanding of concept analysis and its applications in scholarly papers.
